Tiles

Pools are traditionally tiled. Tiles are the most  economical, the least complicated, and the longest lasting pool finish. Only however,  if they are correctly laid and using special tile adhesive and grouts  that have been specifically engineered for use in swimming pools.

Like all other kinds of ceramic, vitreous, or stoneware finishes, it is imperative that the water chemistry is rigorously maintained at the correct levels of water hardness, total alkalinity, and a pH that must be kept within 7.2 and 7.6.

Laid correctly, and with optimal water condition, they will not come lose or crack, and will remain in good condition for 20 years or even longer.

Pebblecrete

Pebblecrete is a luxury, non slip finish made of seamless micro beads of glass or other stone. Truly fascinating colours and astonishing effects can be created.

Pebblecrete is not for the DIY pool builder. It can only be installed by specially trained workers. Peblecrete is also an excellent choice for coping and surrounding deck or patio.

Vinyl

Vinyl liners are popular because although they need to be installed by an expert, they are very easy to clean and are not quite so sensitive to irregular changes in water chemistry and pH. Vinyl tends to be very easily damaged, ripped by finger and facial jewelery, buckles on life jackets, water toys, sharp finger and toe nails, and other objects. Vinyl is not recommended for pools that are likely to be used for boisterous water games. If incorrectly installed the welded seams can come apart. Small tears can be repaired with vinyl patches and special glue.

Paint

Due to low demand, Paint is not held in stock in Thailand and must be imported to order. Delivery times can be anything from 15 to 60 days and may not be reliable. Paint can be applied to  almost any surface but where manufacturers claim that 2 US gallons (7.5 litres) will cover around 28m2 (in two layers), more is almost always required, making it difficult to calculate and order the exact quantity. When painting concrete pools, new concrete should be fully cured, perfectly dry, smooth and free of residual sand and dust, and most importantly, cool. In the tropics the paint should not be applied in direct sunlight or on a hot surface. There are many problems that can arise from attempts to paint a pool, such as bubbling, pitting, and aligatoring. Painting a pool can be a trial & error ordeal, especially in the tropics. For the most part, you can expect your pool paint to last anywhere from two to five years. We do not see any particular advantages of pool paint over the more traditional finishes - it's not cheaper. We do not recommend it, stock it, or import it.
