Biological Filtration System is environmentally friendly with good filtration and backwash performance. It solves the traditional problems of sand agglomeration in the tank. Designed not only with a modern appearance, but it also significantly reduces the size of the filtration system compared to traditional installations.

Biological filtration is the essential part of the Nitrogen Cycle. It is an effective way to remove ammonia and break down into nitrites. Nitrites will then be transformed to nitrates which are required for the growth of aquatic plants. It can be done by using naturally occurring bacteria and offering a place for it to be active in the special filtration media where it is exposed to large amount of oxygen and food.

About Nitrogen Cycle:

The process begins when fish consume and then excrete ammonia. The ammonia is eaten by the bacteria in the filter and form nitrite which is poisonous to fish and has to be taken out. Nitrite will then be eaten by another kind of bacteria in the filter which form nitrate which normally to be used by plant as fertilizer. This cycle repeats itself by natural.
