Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) 1 Kg
Sodium bicarbonate 1 Kg (baking soda) for raising Total Alkalinity (TA).
THIS IS NOT PH PLUS - NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH SODIUM CARBONATE (SODA ASH)
FOR NORMAL INCREASE OF PH USE SODA ASH 'PH PLUS'

Sodium bicarbonate (bicarbonate of soda) will raise the total alkalinity without excessively raising the pH. You should try to increase the total alkalinity over a period of time, adding a maximum of 500 gr of bicarb for each 22,000 litres (22m3) of water. When the TA is too high, the following can occur:
pH keeps going up despite regular addition of pH-Minus or hydrochloric (muriatic) acid
cloudy water
burning eyes and itchy skin
reduced chlorine efficiency resulting in algae growth
